Kidmazium

Ball Pit

Universal Athletic Club members already know about this little energy-releasing haven for kids, but it is open to the public and many people don’t know about it.  Ideal for younger kids (up to 11 years old allowed), Kidmazium is a gymnasium that has been converted to a series of tunnels, slides, ball pits, bounce pads, and climbing with 3 levels and 8000 square feet of fun.  Admission gives you 2 hours of play and parents can join in or watch—parents don’t need to pay.  Primarily used as a babysitting space for gym goers, there will be mostly children who are supervised by the staff.  At times, I felt maybe they could have used more staff members for the number of children who were playing.

Jumping hard!

I went recently with my three year old for a playdate with a friend and her daughter.  It had been years since I last was there but it is the same as what I remembered.  Lilah was super excited to go and she loved it for about five minutes and then she got “lost” and a staff member brought her to me and she burst into tears and cried for quite some time until I could convince her to try again.  However, she then insisted on me either crawling around with her or at least being in sight at all times.  Let’s just say that there is a reason grownups don’t do a lot of sliding anymore…Newton’s Laws of Motion come into play here and for a terrifying second I wasn’t sure I would land in one piece.  Before long, she was laughing and having fun again, although my expected leisurely chat with my friend evaporated.

There is plenty of sliding, jumping, and climbing fun to last two hours but if they need a break or find out it is not their thing, other activities are located in the other half of the gymnasium.  Balls for sports, a small climbing wall, Thomas the Train table, coloring books, various toys, and puzzles will surely keep them occupied.

A wonderful rainy/cold day activity for kiddos who are bouncing off your walls, Kidmazium offers an exciting indoor playground for your little ones.
