Barnyard Kingdom

Mini-wagon ride pulled by tractor

If your children participated in Lancaster Library’s Summer Reading program, you received a free child’s admission to the Country Barn’s Barnyard Kingdom (but HURRY, they expire 9/18!).  I went years ago when my older children were small and I was not impressed.  It seemed run down and there was not much to do, so I usually threw away these tickets.  However, last year I decided to give it another go since my youngest was really into animals.  I was amazed at the changes and upgrades!  They had even reduced the adult admission making it even a better deal.  I now highly recommend using those tickets, my children had a blast and can’t wait to go back!

Hay Bale Tower

Open for harvest fun late July into November, the working farm has dedicated 10 acres of their land to provide a farm fun experience for kids and adults alike.  Upon entering you will notice the huge bounce pad for kids to expend their energy on.  Then make your way through various stations, leisurely at your own pace and in any order.  Activities such as a small corn maze, a combine turned into a playground, an underground slide, wagon rides, pedal karts, potato sling shots, gem stone mining (additional expense), an obstacle course, and a rubber duck race are scattered around the farm.  Of course, it wouldn’t be a farm experience without animals…there are pony rides, a bunny village, chicks to hold, goats that have their own playground, pig races, and a pheasant.  There are simply too many things to list! Older children/teens may enjoy the 5-acre corn maze, and campfires in the evening.  Concessions are available on-site as well.

Lilah loved the chicks!
